Combined Ante-Natal Care

Shared maternity care throughout your pregnancy, working alongside your obstetrician.

Combined Ante-Natal Care

Our ante-natal service

All doctors at Kinsealy Medical Centre provide combined ante-natal care for all our pregnant patients. This includes ante-natal visits, necessary vaccinations, and postnatal care for both mum and baby including the 2-week and 6-week checks.

We strive to develop a lasting relationship with all our parents and their children, providing continuity of care from pregnancy through early childhood and beyond.

What is combined ante-natal care?

Combined (or shared) ante-natal care means that your pregnancy care is shared between your GP at Kinsealy Medical Centre and your obstetrician at the maternity hospital. Routine check-ups and monitoring take place at your GP surgery, with hospital visits for specialist assessments and your birth.

What we provide

  • Routine ante-natal check-ups throughout pregnancy
  • Blood pressure and urinalysis monitoring
  • Vaccinations recommended during pregnancy (e.g. whooping cough, flu)
  • Referral to maternity hospital and specialist services where needed
  • 2-week postnatal check for mum
  • 6-week postnatal check for both mum and baby

Booking your first appointment

If you are pregnant, please contact us as early as possible to register for ante-natal care. Your GP will confirm your pregnancy and arrange your schedule of check-ups and referral to your chosen maternity hospital.
