Investigations we provide
Our nursing team carries out a range of diagnostic investigations on-site, Monday through Friday mornings:
- Phlebotomy (blood tests)
- ECG (electrocardiogram)
- 24-hour blood pressure monitoring
- Urinalysis
- Ear syringing
- Wound care and dressings
Important information
Blood tests must be ordered by a GP in the surgery or a consultant. Please ensure you have a valid blood test request form before attending.
Blood tests are taken by our nursing team during morning clinics. Please arrive as early as possible and bring your test request form.
Results
Results are usually available within 7–10 days. Please contact the surgery after this period to enquire about your results. Do not contact the surgery sooner as results will not be available.
If a review consultation in the surgery is required after your blood test, a review fee of €45 applies.
Fasting requirements
Some blood tests (such as fasting glucose and cholesterol panels) require you to fast for 8–12 hours beforehand. Your GP will advise you at the time of ordering your blood tests whether fasting is required.
