With summer holidays on the horizon, now is the time to think about travel vaccinations. Whether you're heading to Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, or even parts of Southern Europe, many destinations carry health risks that are easily preventable with the right vaccines and advice.
At Kinsealy Medical Centre, we offer a full travel health consultation service — open to both patients and non-patients. Here's what you need to know.
A travel consultation is about much more than jabs. During your appointment we will review your specific destinations, activities, accommodation type and medical history to give you a personalised plan. We'll cover:
We can vaccinate against Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Tetanus / Diphtheria / Polio, Meningitis ACYW-135, MMR, Varicella, Influenza and more. See our full travel vaccinations page for pricing.
Certain vaccines require multiple doses spread over several weeks, and some (like Hepatitis B) need a full course months in advance. We recommend booking at least 6–8 weeks before your departure date. If your travel is at shorter notice, contact us anyway — we can still help with what's available in the time.
We've launched a detailed pre-consultation form to make your travel appointment even more efficient. Complete it after you book and we'll have your destination details, previous vaccine history, and medical background ready before you arrive — meaning more time for the advice that matters.

May is a good time to get into the habit of checking your skin before the summer sun arrives. Ireland may not feel like a high-risk country for skin cancer, but cumulative sun exposure over a lifetime — including from summer holidays abroad — does matter.
If you have a mole or skin lesion you're unsure about, book an appointment with one of our GPs. Early detection makes a significant difference.
